Calenick House

Klunyek Chi (in Cornish)

Cornwall’s oldest and largest Tin Smelting House (Blowing House) [1].

Today forming an impressive collection of two Grade II* and other notable buildings that stand as testimony to the former site – now a private residence.

Historically documented and recorded by Professor R. F. Tylecote of Newcastle University [2] the widely accepted founder of the study of archaeometallurgy.

The prominent clock tower …is a mid-18th Century structure which has been conserved in a near-complete original state and is an unusual and very picturesque high status structure [3]
